THIS KUL CITY GHOST STORIES Proposed to take place in October, KL’ites will be invited to share/write/post their own experience of haunting and supernatural phenomenon. This information will be collected, compiled, curated and performed in a story-telling format. This project aims to:
- Promote a greater awareness of local histories of modern Kuala Lumpur – its peoples, its neighbourhoods, its character and its development.
- Address the development of Kuala Lumpur from its early history as a mining village in the mid 1800s to its present day form as a metropolis and the nation’s capital.
- From its modest economic roots, various communities and neighbourhoods of KL will be mapped and documented through a series of cultural mapping workshops especially targeted at young people.
- To create a sense of place and history of Kuala Lumpur by and for KL’ites.
- Provide the basis to develop an approach to urban regeneration which is community based.
- Once the community understands its city, it will seek to promote and protect its heritage and cultural values.

Hi Daniel,
Thank you for your comment. We did quite a few talks and also a heritage battle the past few months. We will be updating our calendar for second half of the year for upcoming events. A great way to get notifications on our events is by subscribing to our newsletter- Buletin Warisan. The link is on the right column of this website.
Cheers!

[…] Communities such as Rakan KL and This Kul City Discovery Walks (we loved the pun) organize free walking tours that talks about the history and background of local food, buildings and spots. These groups aim to educate Malaysian and non-Malaysians alike about the city so history will not fade into obscurity. You’ll be able to discover and learn about our very own interesting Malaysian heritage. Rakan KL has an upcoming one you can check out here, so does This Kul City here. […]

Hi Design and Directed, yes BWM does walking tours but the THIS KUL CITY project ended last year with our last tour in December. These tours are not offered on a regular basis so you would need to change your text as we do not have any upcoming tours. Our programmes change yearly and for this year, we are more focused on conducting talks and exhibitions. The walking tours may return, but in 2017. Hope this helps!
