The Chen Voon Fee Resource Center is a specialized library and information center.
It houses a collection of documents, books, periodicals, articles, measured drawings
as well as slides & photographs covering a range of topics from architecture, world heritage sites, history and culture.

Developed over 30 years, the Center is probably the most comprehensive
collection of materials specifically relevant to the preservation & conservation of Malaysia’s built heritage.

The Chen Voon Fee Resource Center is open to the public and is supported
by the Chen Voon Fee Charitable Trust Fund.

WHO IS CHEN VOON FEE?

There were many facets to Chen Voon Fee’s life. He was an architect whose contribution to Malaysia’s architecture is of vital importance. Voon Fee was instrumental in the restoration projects of the Central Market and the Creative Center for the Majestic Hotel when it was the National Art Gallery.

During his time in a private partnership, his projects included the Dewan Persidangan Singapura, the Negeri Sembilan State Mosque, Kelab Malaysia and additional buildings for the Faculty of Literature, Universiti Malaya and the main hall, library & lecture halls for Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Chen Voon Fee was also the founding member of Badan Warisan Malaysia, initially taking on the role as Treasurer. He is also the author and the illustrator of the now world famous sketchbook series of Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Perak & Malacca. Chen Voon Fee’s last publication before his death in 2008 was the ‘Planter’s Bungalow’.
