Members’ Trip to Institute Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia
Thursday, 15 September 2022, 10:30am
Visit to Institute Strategic and International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia at Jalan Parlimen, Kuala Lumpur.
ISIS Malaysia is housed in a colonial building set on a hillock in Lake Gardens of Kuala Lumpur, which overlooks Parliament Road on one side and a valley on the other. At one time the residence of British officers, its neighbours include landmarks such as the Parliament House, the National Monument as well as the Royal Lake Club.
The “front” building, which has history that could be traced back to 1895, once served as the home of the first Dewan Rakyat speaker, Tan Sri Mohamed Noah Omar. The building was later designated as the offices of ISIS Malaysia in 1985.
A restoration project was recently completed and we have the privilege to be hosted by ISIS Malaysia for a guided tour to their office at Jalan Parlimen – exclusively for BWM members with free admission. A light lunch will be served.
